***The Pad Thai at Samunprai Thai was not good, but this Thai and Japanese restaurant does offer bento boxes at lunch, which might provide a satisfying variety of Asian cuisine at a reasonable price*** There does not appear to be many dining options in this part of Fort Pierce. Samunprai Thai has a bright cafe-like dining room that offers Thai and Japanese cuisine for lunch. Prices are not too high and there are several bento box lunches so that guests can taste a variety of Thai and Japanese dishes in one sitting. I had the Pad Thai lunch, which came with a cup of soup. I think it was also supposed to come with a spring roll or something fried, but I did not see any on my plate. Instead of soup, I opted for the salad, which was mostly iceberg lettuce and sliced peppers. The dressing was a ginger dressing, but it lacked a ginger flavor. The Pad Thai was not good. The noodles were incredibly thin and mushy while the chicken was dry. It had a lot of the ingredients you would come to expect with Pad Thai like bean sprouts and crushed peanuts. You can customize the heat level and I went for their spiciest level, which had a fair amount of heat. The base sauce was not that good though. It did not taste like Pad Thai. Instead, it had a weird vinegary taste. It was almost like balsamic vinegar heated up. It had a sweet flavor, but it also had a sour, bitter and vinegary flavor that seemed out of place with this dish. Samunprai Thai's bento boxes looked better. They came with California roll, a small entree (a Thai dish or a Japanese dish), crab rangoon, miso soup, and even a dessert (fried banana). Service was pleasant and quick. As mentioned, prices were reasonable at lunch. I did not like the Thai dish I had at Samunprai Thai, but their bento boxes looked fun. I would suggest going with one of their bento boxes for lunch though you might end up disappointed with whatever Thai entree you get in the bento. Samunprai Thai is part of a retail strip that has its own free parking lot. It is easy finding an open space.

You need to find this place, the food is great and the service is on-point. Food is so good that I started getting hungry when I smelled it cooking in the kitchen. The hosts are so nice and welcoming. Will definitely go back and tell my other friends where this hidden gem is.

Stopped by on a whim. They had a special for $9.99 for any Thai entree. I had the chicken pad thai which was very good, but it was odd that the noodles seemed to be broken. Very short but had a nice flavor. A bit sweet, no heat. They didn't ask about the level of heat desired, but authentic pad thai isn't spicy (my brother in law is Thai). Hubby ordered a stir fry dish and asked for the duck as his meat. When we asked the waitress if they would do duck, she said yes, for a few dollars more. He asked twice. Turned out the upcharge for the duck was $10! It was a very good meal, but I think $10 is a lot more than a "few". It was really very good, but I think people should be able to decide up front how much they want to pay for a meal, not after it's eaten. Their wonton soup was very tasty, had a lot of veggies in it, but could have been hotter, and we were too full for dessert even though it was included. If not for the pricing issue I would have given 4 stars.
